Hi again, I can’t believe it’s already
October!
I’ve got some really interesting concerts
coming up in the next couple of months.
This coming Thursday 10th October I will be performing a lunchtime concert with
pianist Claire Howard Race from 12.15-1.15 pm in the foyer of the National Library
of Australia (Parkes Pl, Parkes ACT). This concert features a charming
selection of piano duets by Mozart, Debussy and Rachmaninov. Entry is by gold coin donation as part
of the Canberra Musical Offering.
Next month, two Thursday evening Trio Soirées
should have you dining in musical style:
The first on Thursday 7th November is the second concert of our newly
formed trio featuring violinist Estelita Rae and cellist Jack Hobbs. We will
perform some Brahms, Faure and Mendelssohn from 7-8 pm in the foyer of the
National Library of Australia (Parkes Pl, Parkes ACT). Entry is by gold coin donation,
again as part of the Canberra Musical Offering.
The second on Thursday 21st November features a slightly different combination
- flautist Rachel Howie will join Jack Hobbs and I to perform a beautiful
program of Martinu, Janáček,
Poulenc and Weber. This concert will be at the Wesley Music Centre (National
Circuit, Forrest ACT) from 7-8 pm. Entry is by donation as my final tribute to
the Canberra Musical Offering.
My final concert of the year will be on Saturday 8th December as I
reunite on the concert stage with Sydney baritone Alexander Knight to perform a
fiery Russian program (lots of Rachmaninov!) from 3-5 pm at the Wesley Music
Centre (National Circuit, Forrest ACT). Entry is by a modest fee and
refreshments will be provided.
